Ok so each time I use this computer it seems to be a little slow but tolerable. So we get Thomas on here and it starts acting likes its possessed. So I will give you a little run down of what we have been up to.
Our trip from North Bay was good. We stopped in Sundridge where I met Jenny’s mommy for the first time and we seen three moose.
We arrived at the apartment on Saturday about 2:30 pm. The driver got us here safe considering the speed at which he was driving.
We spent the rest of the day getting oriented and putting food into our tummys. Well pizza from a restaurant just a few minutes from the apartment.
On Sunday we were up early, had breakfast, and headed to the Termini. We bought our Metro passes for three days and headed to the Vatican. We wanted to get an idea of how long it would take to get there. From there we visited St. Peter’s Square, then walked to Castel St. Angelo then to a resatuarant for lunch. Trevor harassed the pigeons while we were eating and they were attacking us from under the table. We all ate pasta and it was very good!
After lunch we walked to Piazza Navona where I purchased an oil painting that I am hoping will look good in my living room. The Italian guy selling the painting told me to change my living room to fit the painting. Not a good idea.
We left the Piazza for the Pantheon then to the Fontana di Trevi. Had to see this for obvious reasons. Throughout the day we seen people begging for money. Some were crippled, while others wore outfits to look like Egyptian mommys, demons and invisable men. We experience musicians in the Metro and at lunch. They play for about two minutes then ask for money.
We walked the rest of the way home. Ouch!! We all had sore feet and were in bed by 9pm.
Today, May 10, we went to the Vatican Museums. Wow!!!! But, the people. There were just too many people and so many of them were just rude. You’d think they’d have some manners in a holy place like the vatican.
We are having a blast with Trevor, Thomas and the Jenns. Lots of laughs. Trevor wanted us to play Sorry tonight with the game he brought. He was losing and not too happy. This was very funny for those of us that were winning.
Well, I think tomorrow is about the Coloseum. More Metro riding and more food and wine. Yeah! We have been drinking our fair share of wine here.
Until the next time. Ciao!!!

This keyboard is so strange!

Umm hi everybody happy mothers day. We’ll be back to write something more substantial in couple hours. We didn’t have a key to the computer room so we couldn’t update.

Bear with us as we get settle!

Ciao!

It’s the week of and our bags are starting to fill up, the to-do lists are getting some check marks, and the amateur Italian is being unleashed more and more frequently. Just yesterday I spent a good portion of my day learning how to introduce the people I’ll be traveling with in Italian. So what would be more suitable than to introduce them in Italian here as we continue to prepare for our journey.

Mi chiamo Thomas! I’m a pretty regular blogger. I run my own blog at tjbro.com which focus mostly on mobile technology and education. As I was finishing up my degree I chose to focus my final ‘thesis’ on uprooting the problems that technology faces as we struggle to realize the potential it presents to enhance both the teaching and learning processes. I’ve never actually been anywhere… outside of Canada at least. So this is going to be one of those look out of the cave after staring at shadows my whole life moments.

La mia rigazza Jennifer. My girlfriend Jennifer. She’s been all over the place. Or that’s how it seems to someone who has never been anywhere at least. She just finished her undergraduate degree in religious and cultural studies so traveling with her will be kind of like having our own little tour guide along with us.

Mia madra Lynne. My mother Lynne. Probably the root of my interest in technology and education she is the IT supervisor for a local school board. We’ve spent many trips back and forth between home and Toronto (where I was going to school) talking about the struggles faced by technology entering classrooms. She’ll be celebrating Mother’s day in Italy this year. Should be exciting!

Mariti di mia madra, Mark. Husband of my mother, Mark. Super cool step dad guy that rocks the drums. Manages a local major department store. I think he likes movies, wine, and long walks on the beach. Not sure though you’d have to ask him.

Mia frotello Trevor. My brother Trevor. Ex-Olympic lifting champion who has moved on to build himself a wannabe farmers life. Trevor went to post-secondary to take up firefighting and did so as a volunteer fire fighter for awhile. He has since moved on to become a guard at the local jail.

La rigazza di mia frotello Jenny. My brothers girlfriend Jenny. Jenny and I are pretty much in the same boat for this trip. She’s lived on the outskirts of the outskirts of a small town in Northern Ontario for her whole life so the whole shadows on the wall thing is a little worse for her methinks (And yes I just said ‘methinks’). She farms cats… ’nuff said.

So now you know everybody, sort of, everything that matters at least. We’ll be missing Iron Man 2′s opening night and the image of Tony Stark saying Arrivaderchi and blasting off into the sky just doesn’t seem as appealing to me so I’ll probably wait until I get back to Canada to see it. I’m sure the Star Wars bible also known as the Dark Lord Trilogy that I bought for the trip will keep me more than entertained. The Jedi just found out about Sidious — lol!

Okay this is too long. (Aside: That’s what she said.)

Our bags.... duh.
