This keyboard is so strange!
Umm hi everybody happy mothers day. We’ll be back to write something more substantial in couple hours. We didn’t have a key to the computer room so we couldn’t update.
Bear with us as we get settle!
Ciao!

15800 steps today! Mark is wearing a pedometre.
We had a great flight on Friday night. Fortunately they changed the plane and Mark and I were able to sit together. Thomas and Trevor each were able to sit with their Jenn without any strangers next to them. Both Trevor and Thomas passed out from taking Gravol and woke as we arrived in Rome well rested and ready to go. Jenn L. was not so lucky. She slept for about 45 minutes. I think Jenny C. was fine and felt rested enough.
In any case, we arrived at the airport in Rome ready to go. Off the plane, through Customs then wait for our luggage. This is always the worst of any trip I have been on. Like all airports there was a huge croud waiting for arrivals. I had to leave my group momentarily to search for our driver. He was a short, balding elderly Italian man that did not speak English. We managed and he gave us a ride through Rome that kept us all alert. Trevor said he felt safer on the plane.
At our apartment we had to figure out how it all worked, keys for this and codes for that but no key for the business office to get on the computer. I tried to reach the owner through his instructions from an email but that did not work. Had to wait for someone to come and pick up our payment to get in touch with him.
Once somewhat settled we headed out for food. Trevor needed food. Right around the corner there was a small restaurant that served pizza. Imagine Pizza in Italy.
After some grocery shopping we headed back to the apartment for the evening and went to bed early.
9 May – Thomas, Jenn and I were up early and forced all the lazy folks out of bed. We wanted to get moving. There were places to go and people to watch.
After breakfast we headed to the Termini where we scouted out another grocery store and purchased Metro passes for 3 days. We took the Metro to the Vatican. We were just getting an idea how long it would take to get there tomorrow morning. In Rome this is not wasted time as there are things to see everywhere. It’s endless. You could live here and still not have seen it all. This is how we ended up walking so many steps. I will let Thomas write about today. It was a great adventure!
Hope all the mom’s in our lives are having a very Happy Mother’s Day!!
Ciao!!!
